Euclidean distance - In mathematics the Euclidean distance or Euclidean metric is the "ordinary" distance between the two points that one would measure with a ruler, which can be proven by repeated application of the Pythagorean theorem. By using this formula as distance, Euclidean space becomes a metric space (even a Hilbert space).
Small-angle formula - The small-angle formula is a mathematical approximation, used in astronomy. It relates the linear size (D) of an object to its angular size (α) and its distance from the observer (d) and is a valid approximation if α is small.
Angular diameter - The angular diameter of an object as seen from a given position is the diameter measured as an angle. It satisfies the formula \delta = \arctan (diameter/ distance).
Bailey-Borwein-Plouffe formula - In mathematics, the Bailey-Borwein-Plouffe formula (BBP formula) originally referred to the π summation formula discovered in 1995 by Simon Plouffe. A great many other formula of the form
